What are the responsibilities and job description for the RWHTF Seasonal Laborer (Landscape/Grounds/Facilities) position at Metro Water Recovery?
4-Day Workweek (Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday) ~ 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Seasonal workers help maintain Metro properties for the summer season. Work begins mid-May and continues through end of August. Works under the direction of a supervisor or manager.
Duties are not limited to and include the following:
Weeding, trimming, and planting.
- Operating string trimmers, lawn mowers up to 52” wide, cultivators, rototillers and chainsaws.
- Hand and shovel digging.
- Mixing, applying/spraying herbicides.
- Moving rock and landscape materials.
- Hosing (with up to 1 1/4” hose size) inside clarifiers, aeration basins and cleaning messes.
- Sweeping and general clean up.
- Detail cleaning which may include wiping down piping, cabinets, walls, tile utilizing cleaning chemicals.
- Operate small gas and/or electric vehicles.
- Any other assigned rudimentary skilled tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Colorado driver’s license and minimum of sixteen years of age.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in landscape and grounds work desired.
Seasonal Laborer Working Conditions
The Seasonal Laborer job is classified as being from medium to heavy work based on the lifting requirements. Depending on the particular job assignment (i.e., Facilities Maintenance grounds crews, cleaning) a Seasonal Worker would be frequently lifting either 20–30 pounds or even 40–60 pounds objects. Occasionally, in any of the job assignments, pushing and pulling up to 50–100 pounds is necessary.
All Laborer job assignments require frequent stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, and feeling. The ability to have hand/eye and hand/foot coordination is constantly required. Laborers are involved in climbing and balancing in their work. They are required to at times work from ladders and must work in fluctuating temperatures and adverse weather conditions (e.g. 90 degree heat, high wind, rain). Up to 95% of Seasonal Laborers’ time is spent in outdoor work.
All Laborers are exposed to the expected hazards and atmospheric conditions of an industrial environment (i.e., fumes, odors, mists, gases, toxic chemicals, electrical and mechanical instrumentation equipment, and high noise levels) may be encountered.
Salary : $19 - $19
