The HRIS Analyst is responsible for maintaining the integrity and reliability of SORTA’s Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and auxiliary systems, ensuring applications meet the needs, requirements, and objectives of the HR department. The HRIS Analyst is charged with managing and optimizing HR software, data analytics, and reporting tools to support HR initiatives, streamline processes, and enhance decision making. Although this position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition, they will be working closely with the Senior Manager of Benefits and Compensation on a project-specific basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain and optimize HR and HR-related systems, including HRIS, ATS, Payroll, and time and attendance software, ensuring the data integrity of system design and functionality.
- Identify and recommend enhancements to maximize value and efficiency of the HRIS.
- Collaborate with HR staff and SORTA leadership to determine short- and long-term system objectives
- Identify opportunities and implement solutions for process automation and improvements within HR and HR-related systems.
- Participate in HR technology projects and collaborate with IT, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to implement system integrations and upgrades, taking the lead in data analysis, mapping, and legacy system conversions.
- Identify and program custom functions such as automated queries, filters, macros, and workflows.
- Develop and maintain HR data and reporting solutions, creating customized reports, dashboards, and analytics to support HR activities and management decision making.
- Test and implement system upgrades or new functionalities.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for HR systems and processes, including training materials, guides, and standard operating procedures.
- Support compliance reporting (e.g., EEO, ACA, or other regulatory requirements).
- Perform system audits for data validation and integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within the system.
- Ensure system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors, and technology.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, human resources, or related field
Experience
- At least five years of experience in roles requiring data analysis and logical processing, preferably with HR business systems.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge
- Proficiency in Paycor Recruiting and Paycor Perform highly preferred.
- Familiarity with SQL or other database management tools.
- Experience with data analysis tools, preferrable with Power BI.
- Technical knowledge of databases, query writing, reporting packages, and analysis of large datasets.
- Thorough understanding of information systems, with experience with HRIS products preferred.
- Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and communicate large amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Project management and/or system implementation experience required.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, with advanced-level skills in Microsoft Excel.
Certificates & Licenses
- PHR/SPH or CP/SCP from the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) or certification from a related professional association preferred.
