Schedule: Must be able to work all shifts: mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Transit Field Supervisor attends to service-related concerns and communication from Bus Operators, Dispatchers, Managers, and Directors. The Transit Field Supervisor will respond to accidents, incidents, and/or occurrences that disrupt normal scheduled operations. Among other duties, this role provides professional oral and written communications using various technologies and equipment while demonstrating a commitment to organizational goals and objectives.
Transit Field Supervisor Qualifications:
- 1 year of transit operator experience.
- 2 years of progressive supervisory experience required in a transit environment preferred.
- Must be 25 years of age.
- Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. College degree preferred.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and excellent driving record to meet insurance standards.
- Possess or have the ability to complete company provided Class B CDL training in 90 days. Must maintain Class B CDL at all times of employment.
- Must pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical, back screen, drug screen, and complete a background check.
- Must possess stable and verifiable work history, with exceptional record of attendance and punctuality.
- Positive attitude and demonstrated excellence in customer service.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- The ability to work independently.
- Proficient use of computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other related financial software
- Demonstrated team leadership and development skills.
- Ability to cooperate and develop good working relationships with others.
- Maintain the utmost discretion and integrity, especially pertaining to confidential matters.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, with a proven ability to work effectively under pressure.

Transit Field Supervisor Essential Duties:
- Provides supervision and oversight per Metro’s policies, rules, applicable regulations, statutes, laws, orders, and ordinances.
- Supervises and trains employees, directing work, coaching, counseling, administering disciplinary actions, and resolving complaints and issues.
- Serves as a member of the Operations supervisory team, actively participating in frequent communication and coordination with other departments to pursue Metro’s goals and mission.
- Assists with the development and implementation of procedures and practices, as necessary.
- Supports and promotes the mission and values of Metro.
- Keeps up to date with agency wide policies and procedures with the ability to communicate these updates to employees and customers.
- Supervises and coordinates bus and paratransit vans' field and transit activities, ensuring safe, reliable, and on-time service delivery.
- Monitors activities and provides Operator and customer assistance at transit centers and transfer locations. Responds to various events through foot patrols or assigned vehicles.
- Responds to customer inquiries, compliments and complaints pertaining to routes, schedules, operator-related issues, and general transit information.
- Performs safety and security physical inspections, threat and vulnerability assessments, including but not limited to: gates, perimeter fencing, lighting, building exterior/perimeter doors, CCTV equipment.
- Responds to passenger/customer behaviors and completes required reports and forms in addition to other prescribed works with law enforcement agencies involving a report of/response to criminal activity.
- Conducts incident and accident investigations.
- Uses radio, phone, and computerized technologies to monitor and report activities at all Metro's facilities, as required.
- Assists in developing and presenting methods to improve service quality, reliability, and on-time performance.
- Promotes safe operations and practices by interacting with bus operators and other personnel regarding observations using proactive and reactive corrective measurements.
- Maintains route and street familiarity to develop reroutes and detours, incorporating schedule guides and maps.
- Works in conjunction with Dispatchers using audio and visual equipment (e.g., 2-way radios, phones, MDT, CAD, etc.).
- Required to operate revenue and non-revenue vehicles when required or requested.
- Interacts with customers, clearly communicates information on service, delays, and detours, and de-escalates situations as needed.
- Completes, collects, and submits reports as required daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Enforces all work rules and corrective action when necessary.
- Substitutes for Dispatchers and Transit Operators when needed.
- Investigates and creates written reports and draws diagrams of accidents.
- May be subject to working additional hours or other work assignments as circumstances warrant.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
- Other related duties as assigned.
