This role involves completing initial training, implementing, and monitoring day-to-day operational processes for field-based financial assessments and consumer benefit enrollment. The coordinator ensures that these processes run efficiently and effectively, meeting agreed-upon targets and policies while adhering to best practice standards.

- Directly supervises, hires, coaches, and develops Consumer Benefits staff
- Oversees and monitors all consumer benefit-related processes for the Center to ensure uniformity and compliance
- Assist individuals in applying for or obtaining enrollment into Medicaid, Medicare, SSI/SSDI, CHIP, Health Marketplace plans, and other relevant benefit programs.
- Develop and implement the training material
- Interprets explanation of rules, regulations, and policies for benefit plans and programs
- Ensures financial eligibility guidelines according to Community Standards and TAC are followed, reporting barriers to Program Manager
- Reports identified problems with business, financial, or technical processes or procedures to the appropriate administrative departments and assists in the development and implementation of solutions
- Trains agency staff on patient enrollment and ability to pay related processes quarterly and/or as needed. Including but not limited to financial assessment-related tasks.
- Maintains knowledge of and complies with established policies and procedures, including government, insurance, and third-party payer regulations/contractual requirements
- Attends trainings on rules, regulations, and policies for benefits plans and programs
- Research and generate reports as directed
- Works closely with service area managers to ensure efficient and timely financial and enrollment processes
- Completes monthly audits of consumer benefit-related field-based processes and generates formal reporting
- Participates and is an active member of the Consumer Benefit Organization
- Maintains knowledge of and complies with established policies and procedures of State and Federal benefits
- Provide reports to ADRC program on benefits activities by maintaining appropriate documentation
- Arrange work schedule as necessary or directed to meet the program and consumer service needs
- Participates in staff meetings and training activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Required: Bachelor's degree required with 2 years of progressive experience.
- Four or more years of progressive customer service experience.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree: A master's degree in social, behavioral, or human services with a major in a qualified field such as psychology, counseling, or social work is preferred, along with one year of relevant experience.
- Supervisory/Management Experience: Requires at least one year of supervisory or management experience.
- Experience and working knowledge of the eligibility and application process for Medicaid/Medicare and Supplemental Security Income and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSI/SSDI).
- Experience and knowledge related to working with the disability population.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Ability to work with reports and numbers.
- Ability to calculate moderately complex figures and amounts to accurately report activities and budgets.
- Basic math skills required.
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Ability to function in a fluid environment and respond appropriately to changing priorities.
