The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Pharmacist in all functions pertaining to the pharmacy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- All pharmacy technician functions, including upholding and enforcing all State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations.
- Accurately and competently carry out all functions of all workflow stations (data entry, production and pickup).
- Contacting and conferring with Physicians concerning medication orders.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when helping consumers.
- Perpetuate inventory and records for regular medications.
- Must be proficient in all daily duties as outlined in the daily tasks document.
- Maintain a clean, organized pharmacy.
- Uphold all rules and regulations of Metrocare Services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
Mathematical Skills
- General math involved in dispensing medications
- Basic math skills required.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in pharmacy software system and other Metrocare applications.
- Ability to manage and utilize email system.
- Skilled at utilizing the online ordering process.
- Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to utilize Internet for resources.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
- Certificated Pharmacy Technician by Texas State Board of Pharmacy
- Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. If licensed in another state, must obtain Texas Driver License within three (3) months of employment.
- Liability insurance required if employee will operate personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business. Must be insurable by Center’s liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business. Must have an acceptable driving record.
