In addition to behavioral health care, Metrocare provides primary care centers for adults and children, services for veterans and their families, accessible pharmacies, housing, and supportive social services. Alongside clinical care, researchers and teachers from Metrocare’s Altshuler Center for Education & Research are advancing mental health beyond Dallas County while providing critical workforce to the state.
Develops, implements and provides individual motor therapy in a variety of inclusive and natural settings. Services include helping promote recognition and realization by family members of goals for their child and family. Providing occupational therapy to children with developmental disabilities from birth to 3 years of age. Member of interdisciplinary team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops, implements and provides individual motor therapy with infants and toddlers in a variety of inclusive and natural settings.

Provides families with consultation and therapy services

Evaluates for and develops assistive technology/adaptive equipment to assist consumers in daily living skills and promoting independence.

Is knowledgeable about community resources and service delivery systems
-
Provides consultation and training with other team members to facilitate therapy programs

Organizes and conducts assessments and service plans for consumers
-
Provides supervision and monitoring of occupational therapy students
-
Completes accurate documentation including assessment reports, progress notes and other required documentation.

Complies with Metrocare ECI policies and procedures
-
Prepares own yearly training needs and professional development plans
-
Contributes to the growth of the agency through additional activities
-
Meets set benchmark goals

Attend weekly ECI staff meeting, and TC meeting.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Bachelors degree in Occupation Therapy from an accredited program. Current licensure. Minimum of one to year years experience in performance of occupational therapy.

2 or more years working with infants and/or families
-
Bilingual in Spanish and/or American Sign Language a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
-
Basic math skills required.
REASONING ABILITY:
-
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
-
Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Ability to utilize Internet for resources.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
-
Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. If licensed in another state, must obtain Texas Driver License within three (3) months of employment.

Liability insurance required if employee will operate personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business. Must be insurable by Centers liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business. Must have an acceptable driving record.
