Metropolitan Companies is looking for a Pre-Construction Coordinator to join our team! The Pre-Construction Coordinator is responsible for pre-construction and estimating work for multi-family construction projects heavily focusing on Mid-Rise in both city and suburban markets. This position is required to determine complete scopes, estimate labor, time, and materials of construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and proposals to determine and control the overall cost of the project. Responsibilities:
- Review blueprints, product specifications, and utilize company software to accurately determine time, cost, labor, and quantities of materials as well as scopes of work needed for projects.
- Work with architects, engineers, structural and civil as needed for changes, questions, etc. on blueprints and building plan documents.
- Review detailed cost estimates of materials by analyzing plans, scopes and specifications.
- Utilize spreadsheets and company software to input dimensions and other data to calculate projected costs of proposed projects.
- Solicit and review subcontractor proposals and assist with contract negotiations.
- Document total materials needed and contact information necessary to process orders.
- Consult with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates.
- Review Scopes of work for completeness. Analyze and confirm quality take-offs.
- Prepare cost and expenditure statements and documentation for the duration of the project.
- Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services through the duration of the project.
- Must be familiar in Civil and Site related earth and foundation work all the way through Interior Design & Finishes.
- Track actual costs relative to bids as project develops.
- Perform other duties as assigned and required.

Requirements:
- HS diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- 5 years’ experience in commercial and multi-family construction
- Proficiency with Microsoft office
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to travel to job sites as needed
Preferred:
- 5 years’ experience in preconstruction/estimation in the construction industry
- Familiar in multi-floor concrete & steel a strong advantage
- Previous experience with Stack, Procore, Pro Est, Building Connected, Adobe, Revu, Bluebeam, AutoCAD/Auto Desk/ArchiCAD
