Position Summary :
The Met Council Spitzer Fulfillment Center (SFC) is Met Council's Manhattan Hub for serving and engaging communities across New York City. The space and its programs serve to fill pockets of kosher and halal food needs by prioritizing dignity and accessibility in its programs through Market by Met Council, our online ordering platform, while offering an opportunity for our supporters to volunteer, help with projects, and learn more about Met Council's commitments to NYC. This dual role is based on the Volunteer Services team and collaborates closely with our Food Programs team.
The Spitzer Fulfillment Center Manager will lead SFC's existing pantry operations, support engagement projects, run volunteer events, and manage pantry support staff and work to extend the program's reach, including overseeing existing external projects and pursuing strategic service opportunities. The manager will also collaborate with all our partners to broaden engagement opportunities at SFC.
Please note : This position is on-site four days per week and remote one day per week. Typical working hours are Monday through Thursday 9am to 6pm and Friday from 9 am to 3pm including occasional Sundays and additional hours as needed.
Principal Responsibilities :
Operations
- Manage support staff members at SFC when related to pantry and SFC work (agency temporary workers, fellows, interns, etc.). This includes assigning tasks to each staff member and providing training for the staff to ensure tasks are completed properly. Ensure all timesheets are correctly completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Learn how to use Pantry Management tools, primarily Market by Met Council.
- Create processes and manage communication channels to support SFC's needs and functions with Volunteer and Food Programs Operations.
- Support pantry operations, satellite, and site communication.
- Work with the Volunteer Services team to support engagement projects, new initiatives, and events including :
Working with volunteers, donors, and community groups on events to support SFC's needs
Strategic Projects
The continuation of the Met Council and Hillel Grocery Assistance Program on CUNY commuter campuses.

Compensation : $70,000 to $75,000 per year.
