JOB HIGHLIGHTS

POSITION PURPOSE : This position serves as the Visit Detroit marketing liaison and works with assessing marketing needs and coordinating the production and trafficking of marketing materials by ensuring that the Visit Detroit message and brand identity is consistent and tailored to our customer’s needs.

LOCATION & SCHEDULE :

  • Full time
  • This position currently involves a hybrid working model with 2 days remote, and 3 days in-office in Detroit, MI.
  • WHAT WE REQUIRE :

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications field, or commiserate experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in marketing and project management.
  • Knowledge of sales promotion, direct marketing, trade show marketing and interactive technology.
  • Valid, unrestricted Michigan driver’s license.
  • PREFERRED :

  • 2 years’ experience in marketing.
  • Experience in project management.
  • HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE :

  • Coordinate the day-to-day planning and execution of marketing elements associated with client facing events, industry conferences, sponsorships, and trade shows.
  • Manage the shared responsibility of managing brand standards.
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing communications.
  • Plan and produce a wide range of destination marketing materials to sell the Detroit region.
  • Collaborate with design agencies and oversee marketing materials.
  • Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all departments are kept informed of marketing materials.
  • Act as project planner for all marketing-related projects.
  • Serve as the liaison with internal stakeholder's project management teams.
  • Committed to partnering with Visit Detroit in embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion into company culture and operations, and actively contributing to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all employees and stakeholders.
  • OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS :

  • Provides assistance and support as needed.
  • Completes required reports, records, and related documents accurately and promptly.
  • Completes special project assignments.
  • Prepare, process, and submit financial documents for vendor payment
  • REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES :

  • Ability to think strategically as well as tactically.
  • Ability to build effective consensus within a diverse team.
  • Ability to assist in the execution of marketing plans.
  • Ability to analyze and solve marketing problems.
  • Ability to multitask several projects at one time with tight turnaround times.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to clearly express thoughts, ideas, and concepts, verbally and in writing, in the English language.
  • Skilled in organizing, prioritizing, and analyzing multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, peers, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Maintains a positive and professional work attitude, appearance, and behavior even in the most demanding situation.
  • Ability to work effectively in both remote and in-person work environment; proficient using video conferencing software and other remote work tools.
  • Proficient in using personal computer software and applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Available weekends and outside of normal work hours for assignments and travel, as needed.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS :

  • Office work involves extended periods of sitting or working at a desk, utilizing repetitive typing motions on a computer or laptop, and reading text on a video display monitor.
  • Ability to perform extensive standing and / or walking for work-related assignments and events.
  • Ability to lift push, and or carry up to 40lbs. occasionally
