Description
The Leasing Agent is responsible for assisting individuals facing chronic homelessness in securing affordable housing within our properties. You will work closely with clients to assess their needs and eligibility, provide guidance, and support throughout the leasing process, and ensure that their transition into stable housing is as smooth as possible.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their eligibility for low-income housing programs. Verify income and other qualifications.
- Provide compassionate, respectful, and client-centered support to address specific needs and concerns during the leasing process.
- Conduct property tours to showcase available units, emphasizing the benefits and amenities of the housing options.
- Maintain property management data systems to provide tenant information to internal and external stakeholders as required.
- Updates HMIS (Homeless Management and Information System.)
- Assists Property Manager in updating leases to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, federal, and funder requirements.
- Assist clients in completing housing applications, leases, and other required documentation. Ensure all paperwork is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Property Manager to perform background checks and reference checks for prospective tenants, following fair housing regulations.
- Explain lease terms, rent payment procedures, and resident responsibilities to clients, ensuring they fully understand and are comfortable with the leasing agreement.
- Provide information on available support services, resources, and community organizations that can help clients address their specific needs.
- Maintain regular contact with tenants to monitor their progress and address any concerns or issues that may arise during their tenancy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8am - 430pm
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting wage: $23/hour
- Wage range: $21 - 23/hour

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of low-income housing programs, fair housing regulations, and eviction prevention resources.
- Strong interpersonal skills and empathy for individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently, make sound judgments, and manage time effectively.
- Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
- WA State driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to be insured.
Salary : $21 - $23
