What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Crew - Seasonal position at Metropolitan Entertainment & Convention Authority?
Primary Responsibilities:
Part-time game day grounds crew members will directly assist with a wide variety of field maintenance tasks; generally including most field preparation activities leading up to, during, and after all games at the ballpark. This includes batting practice set up & take down, pre-game field preparation, mid-game field grooming, and post-game cleanup. Work opportunities are not limited to game days depending on other events at the facility and/or special projects on the field. Crew members are also asked to be available for pulling tarp in situations where extra help is needed, at any time of the day or night.
Requirements:
Must be able to handle physical activity (i.e. pulling tarp, lifting heavy objects, manual labor, etc.), work in weather extremes, safely operate machinery, work well and get along with others, follow directions and carry out tasks, adapt to changing schedules, and have a positive professional attitude and appearance. No prior grounds keeping knowledge is necessary.
Schedule:
Must be available to work game days; including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
