We are now seeking for a Part-time Intern to join our Behavior Health Program with our Midway Team!

This is an unpaid internship for current college students needing the hours to complete a course or graduation requirements. 

The intern will support home, office and community-based clinical and educational services.

ESSENTIAL INTERNSHIP FUNCTIONS: Can Include some or all of the following:

  • Assist with comprehensive, in-depth assessments for a variety of program services.  
  • Learns and support with group services as indicated by program need.
  • Learns and provides mental health assessments, individual and family therapy, case management and client centered consultation services.
  • Supports with provides a full range of case management, counseling, advocacy, educational, and related services.
  • Identifies and utilizes agency and community resources.
  • Joins or develops groups and coalitions to address community needs.
  • Recommends financial assistance for clients
  • Learn to represent and interpret programs of agency in community.

  • May serve on regional or agency-wide committees.

  • Assist with complying with agency record keeping expectations.

  • Works effectively with diverse staff and service population.
  • Assists team to market services in the communities we serve.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in a Master Level Program for Social Work or related field, from an accredited college or university, required.
  • Must have access to a vehicle, proof of insurance and valid driver’s license to perform essential functions, required.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • This internship requires some travel and requires mobility to work with a community-based caseload.
  • Ability to maintain assigned community and home-based services.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • While performing the essential duties of this internship, the intern is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch.
    • The intern is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal.
    • The intern may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
