WAIVER SERVICE PROVIDERS

Metropolitan Family Services provides services for individuals with mental and physical disabilities. We seek Waiver Service Providers to work in all boroughs (Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Manhattan), The Children’s Waiver program and Children Family Treatment and Support is designed to provide community- based health care services and support to children in foster care or who have been discharged from foster care or setting. The program provides an array of individualized services tailored to meet the medical developmental, and behavioral health need of each child and family to help the child remain successful in his/her home and community environment.
Children in this program are serviced in the least restrictive setting possible, involving those in their care giving network- foster family, birth family, and adoptive family members. Please note: Most of the cases serviced through this program reside in the Bronx or Manhattan.
The role of WSP is to provide a variety of support services to children and their family including counseling, planned/crisis respite, caregiver/family support and services, prevocational services, supported employment, community self-advocacy training and support, community psychiatric support and treatment, and psychosocial rehabilitation. The position also entails attending meetings as well as documenting and reporting on progress towards goals within strict deadline dates. The role requires participating in required state trainings during initial employment and annual basis, traveling and providing home and community- based services to children & families enrolled within Metropolitan Family Service’s Children waiver program.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree with 1 to 3 years of experience working with children and related experience in human service field, social work, or psychology as well as experience in children’s mental health and foster care.
PLEASE NOTE: MOST OF OUR CASES ARE LOCATED IN THE BRONX OR MANHATTAN.
