- Establishes and maintains positive, supporting, and professional relationships with Davidson County childcare and preschool teachers and directors.
- Utilizes current research and evidence-based practices to assist in the development of new early literacy coaching initiatives.
- Leads or assists with other programming as needed.
- Conducts classroom observations.
- Provides one on one and small group coaching to educators that supports their professional development to provide high quality literacy practices in the classroom.
- Develops learning plans.
- Promotes NPL resources and services to use in the classroom.
- Works collaboratively with BBTL staff to identify specific programming and resources to enhance classroom instruction and practices.
- Assists in creating new teacher professional development workshops based upon identified needs.
- Tracks progress, prepares reports, and analyzes data to demonstrate the impact of literacy practices.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood or related filed and two (2) years of experience teaching in an early childhood education setting, including planning and implementing curriculum.
Valid "Class D" Driver's License

Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
- One year experience training and mentoring teachers in a group setting
- Experience working with commonly used early childhood curricula: Frog Street, Teaching Strategies, etc.
- Bilingual Language Skills
