What are the responsibilities and job description for the Masonry Worker-Parks position at Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County?
Work Hours: This position may require overtime work.

- Laying block, stone & brick for the repair and remodeling of building & walls.
- Building & repairing foundations & retaining walls.
- Installing and repairing sidewalks, concrete pads, manholes, and related structures.
- Installing and cleaning drainage pipes, grates, header walls & related structures.
- Making welding repairs to various structures.
- Setting ceramic tile, plastering new walls and patching plaster where needed.
- Erecting & repairing fences & guard rails.
- Maintaining tools & equipment.
- Operating, towing, or transporting equipment or commercial motor vehicles.
- Reading & interpreting blueprints & specifications.
- Observing job site and area for other maintenance needs and assisting as needed.
- Maintaining reports and records of jobs completed and in progress.
- Training employees in the masonry trade.
Eighth Grade Education and one (1) year of general masonry experience
License Required:
Valid Driver’s License

Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
- Experience operating machinery such as Skid-Steer Loader, Backhoe, Dump Truck, and Concrete Mixer
- Experience laying block, stone and brick for the repair and remodeling of buildings and walls
- Experience finishing and repairing sidewalks
