Position Description
This Police Support Technician is responsible for performing routine clerical duties for a section or division in the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD).

The Metro Nashville Police Department is a 24/7/365 operation. Typical Duties
- Creates, organizes, searches, and maintains confidential files and records.
- Performs responsible clerical and technical duties.
- Verifies and enters data into computer.
- Makes routine posting of entries.
- Answers inquiries by phone and in-person.
- Organizes and schedules appointments and meetings.
- Compiles, checks and processes reports, documents, and forms.
- Makes mathematical computations.
- Answers correspondence from various sources.
- May process judicial and/or administrative expungements of arrest records.
- May fulfill public records requests such as accident reports, body worn camera footage, dash cam footage, background checks, personnel files, disciplinary records, and Office of Professional Accountability (OPA) files.
- May compile data for statistical, financial, or narrative reports.
- May order and stock office supplies.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of administrative experience.
LICENSES REQUIRED
Valid Driver License
NCIC Certification may be required for some positions in this classification.
Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.
Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience using Microsoft Office computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
