The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for all accounts payable tasks, including vendor set up, maintenance, and correspondence. They will also be the first point of contact for all vendors, while providing general accounting and clerical support to the accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, attention to detail, the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems, and be able to communicate effectively with others.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ownership of Accounts Payable inbox including vendor correspondence and invoice distribution
- New vendor setup and continuing vendor maintenance inclusive of vendor documentation retention and audit
- Generation, review and distribution of Accounts Payable reports
- Assist in 1099 filing
- Utility management including ensuring timeliness of payment, starting and stopping service, and troubleshooting when needed
- Minor AP data entry
- Ensuring the AP process is running smoothly and efficiently
- Prepare and deposit various receipts across multiple entities
- Accounting file administration
- Miscellaneous file retention
- Ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Assistant Controller
- Adhere to Company policies, including accounting standards and policies
Job Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field required
- At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable/accounts receivable
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Proficient with accounting software (experience with Avid, AppFolio, Divvy, and/or Sage is preferred but not required)
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage multiple projects across multiple softwares
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work in a team-oriented, high-paced environment
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion with ability to identify problems and make recommendations for resolution
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
