Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Controller. This position reports to the Controller. This position is expected to have a strong sense of ownership, ability to identify process improvement opportunities. This position requires a minimum of 3 years of multifamily accounting experience.
Duties and Responsibilities :
The Senior Accountant is expected to perform position-related duties that include, but are not limited to :
Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries and supporting analyses.
Accounts Receivable
Accounts Payable
Payroll (using ADP)
Bank reconciliations
Prepare reconciliations as assigned and identify process improvement opportunities.
Communicate timely and effectively with co-workers and management on financial related matters with appropriate detail.
Ad hoc projects as needed.
Other tasks as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications
3-5 years operational accounting experience in a similar role in multifamily.
Degree in accounting or related field
Advanced knowledge of RealPage, Onesite or Yardi.
Advanced Excel skills.
Ability to work collaboratively under pressure, juggle tasks and work efficiently against deadlines
Must have excellent time management skills and sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience working with Payroll.
Solid organizational skills along with an aptitude for information technology.
Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
Ability to exhibit cooperation, flexibility, and provide assistance when interfacing with managers and coworkers.
Ability to meet strict deadlines.
Skill in organizing and reporting information that is accurate and complete.
Consistency and timeliness in attendance.
