THE ROLE
As a leader of our Front End Department, this position oversees daily e-commerce activities, including order selection, fulfillment, and delivery, while upholding company standards for accuracy, efficiency, and service. The E-Commerce Lead trains and guides team members to achieve operational excellence, builds strong guest relationships by providing service-based solutions, and contributes to effective Front End operations by backup checking as needed. Collaborating closely with store leadership, this role identifies opportunities to enhance processes, maximize productivity, and contribute to the store's overall success in meeting e-commerce growth objectives.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU’D DO
- Manages day-to-day e-commerce operations, including order selection, packing, staging, and delivery; ensures all orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently to meet guest needs and company standards.
- In partnership with the Guest Services Team Leader, determines daily e-commerce projects and delegates to team members assigned e-commerce activities on the weekly work schedule; ensures daily tasks and assignments are accomplished correctly and in a timely manner.
- Ensures timely and relevant communication to all store departments to drive effective e-commerce operations.
- Ensures health, safety and sanitation guidelines are followed while working with all products.
- Effectively performs all checking duties as needed, including all cash, check, debit/credit, and EBT transactions.
- Prevents internal and external loss
- Responsible for the effective ordering and inventory management of all e-commerce related supplies.
- Participates in physical inventory on a quarterly basis, or as needed.
- Leads by example, and provides team members with clear expectations and timely feedback.
- Trains all team members assigned e-commerce activities on customer service expectations and techniques; ensures customer service expectations are consistently achieved on a department-wide basis.
- Guides guests through resolving order issues on e-commerce platforms, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Ensures a high level of carry-out service is provided to our guests.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Store Director team and/or Guest Services Team Leader.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum one year of grocery retail experience required.
- One or more years of e-commerce experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and produce quality output while working within deadlines a must. Sense of urgency required. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the grocery industry and food safety requirements, including HACCP and Department of Health guidelines.
- Demonstrates a high level of self-motivation; takes initiative; problem solves.
- Possesses comprehensive product information with a proven history of using knowledge to train employees and best service customers
- Strong leadership skills; proven success as a team member. Ability to effectively delegate and follow-through.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills required; effective written communication skills necessary.
- Demonstrates an interest in learning; possesses a strong interest in food and related products.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based upon the needs of the business, including nights and weekends.
- Able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
