Nurse Practitioner Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of clinical experience and a passion for providing patient-centered care. The NP will work in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of patient conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical exams, health histories, and lab tests.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, conditions, and injuries.
- Prescribe medications and treatments, as appropriate, in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Provide patient education and counseling on preventative care, lifestyle changes, and medication management.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective care.
- Document patient encounters in electronic health records (EHR) accurately and timely.
- Maintain current knowledge of medical best practices, emerging healthcare trends, and continuing education.
Qualifications:
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as an NP.
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in DC, Maryland, or Virginia.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Current BLS/CPR certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
