SALARY RANGE:                $70,000-$85,000

LOCATION:                          130 Livingston
HOURS OF WORK:             8:30am – 5:00pm (7 ½ hours)

This position is eligible for telework which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.
 
SUMMARY:
The Senior Equal Opportunity (EO) Coordinator will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities to assist the Agency Chief Equal Opportunity Officer, to plan and administer important functions within the Diversity and Equal Opportunity (DEO) Division .
The Senior EO Coordinator’s primary function is to support administrative and operational needs for the purpose of managing compliance risks to the successful implementation of various Civil Rights programs (EEO, Title VI, Environmental Justice, LEP and Diversity & Inclusion).  Under the guidance of the Agency Chief EO Officer (NYCT), the Sr. EO Coordinator will work closely with NYCT DEO’s internal & external stakeholders to assist with gathering pertinent information and with researching policies, procedures and governances to help solve business problems.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Connects internal stakeholders with the Agency Chief EO Officer by accurately and timely managing detailed information flow and filtering critical operational information to move administrative or operational needs and requests forward.  Handles highly sensitive and confidential personnel information with discretion and professionalism.  Identify time-sensitive and priority issues and keep the Agency Chief EO Officer and Deputy Chief EO Officers advised, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
  • Support the division’s investigative processes and fact-finding by identifying and generating basic supporting data, documents or information to support EO Investigators.
  • Coordinate collection of documentary or electronic material responsive to government compliance audits/reviews or external investigations.  Ensure that items are ready and properly organized and formatted for timely transmittal.  Track receipt of requested information, prepare progress reports and notify responsible parties of outstanding items to ensure a complete submission.
  • Identify solutions to issues as they arise, escalate urgent matters to the appropriate division leads and develop proactive processes to ensure smooth and efficient division operations that maximize productivity and support executive focus on high-level leadership and strategy functions.
  • Perform research to support executive decision making and equal opportunity compliance related projects. Manage communications professionally and discreetly with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Creates and maintains digital and physical files, in accordance with recordkeeping & retention requirements, applicable to MTA policy, legal and/or programmatic mandates.
  • Support and coordinate department initiatives, targeted strategies to address areas on underutilization, and other special events and projects.
  • Provide operational and high-level support for all aspects of the NYCT DEO Division's daily work routine so the department can effectively deliver against its equal opportunity compliance priorities.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to problem-solve and follow-up appropriately on process and procedural issues.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Google Forms, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft and Google applications.
  • Experience demonstrating a high attention to detail and accuracy and experienced in coordinating multiple concurrent projects/priorities simultaneously.
      
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:         
REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience supporting managers and teams.
  • At least three (3) years of experience as an administrator: able to self-manage, prioritize work assignments, and manage competing priorities and deadlines.
