Job Summary: Assist in the operation of all transit services. Assist Operators in the safe, professional, and efficient operation of the system. Responsible for the daily operations of the Dispatch Office, workforce, equipment assignments, and daily reports. Maintains knowledge of safe work practices, including reporting unsafe conditions.
Essential Functions:
- Issue work, equipment, and vehicle assignments to operators, which includes coordinating vehicle availability and assignments with the Maintenance Department.
- Reassign operators, trips, or equipment to meet service needs and adjust schedules to minimize service disruptions to passengers.
- Responsible for performing duties following company policies and within the boundaries of the labor contract.
- Responsible for preparing daily operator boards consisting of equipment and personnel assignments.
- Responsible for preparing and updating all attendance, discipline, and other required reports through computer input.
- Assist operators in the performance of daily requirements.
- Assist with the operation of vehicles and personnel at special events.
- Coordinate and respond to varied daily operating conditions and requirements.
- Apply automated technology to access and analyze schedules.
- Manage and assist with quarterly Run, Special bids & the Vacation bid.
- Schedule operations personnel for all required meetings while meeting workforce requirements.
- Assist the Manager/Director in monitoring, counseling, and team building to encourage improved customer relations and achieve 95% on-time performance goals.
- Must be willing to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Assist supervisors as needed in an emergency or during special events.
- Maintains knowledge of safe work practices, including reporting unsafe conditions.
- Assist other departments with extra activities requiring operations personnel or assistance.
- Must report to work on a regular and timely basis.
- Performs other incidental duties as may be assigned.
