About The Dermatology Nurse Role
We are looking for a Dermatology Veterinary Nurse to join our growing team! This appointment-based role is a great opportunity for someone with at least one year of veterinary experience, a strong interest in dermatology, and a passion for client communication. You’ll be working closely with a supportive DVM and a dedicated team of two nurses per doctor, assisting with a variety of dermatologic cases, including biopsies, ear flushes, and infectious disease management.

Compensation: Starts at $23/hr and is based on experience/licensure.

What You’ll Do
- Assist in running dermatology appointments and supporting the DVM with sedation and anesthesia as needed.
- Work alongside a two-nurse, one-doctor team, providing efficient and high-quality patient care.
- Handle a high volume of client communication, educating pet owners on dermatologic conditions and treatments.
- Perform minimal sedation procedures (e.g., biopsy, ear flushes) with proper patient monitoring.
- Maintain infection control protocols, including the use of PPE when handling infectious cases.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment, including proper sterilization of equipment.
- Collaborate with a dynamic and fast-paced team, adapting to occasional chaos while maintaining professionalism.
- Minimum of one year of veterinary experience (specialty or dermatology experience is a plus!).
- Anesthesia and sedation experience preferred.
- Strong client communication skills—this role involves significant client interaction.
- Ability to work comfortably with infectious cases while following strict safety measures.

- Comfortable working in a clinical environment that can be messy or unpleasant at times.
- Licensure (CVT/LVT/RVT) is a plus, but not required.
