We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of Veterinary Assistants with approximately a year of experience with dog and cat handling / restraint in a clinical atmosphere to join our Emergency Department.
The mid-shift schedule we are hiring for is :
Thursday–Saturday, 2 PM– 2 AMSunday-Wednesday, 4 PM - 2 AMRequirements
Experience and comfort with patient (dog and cat) restraint and handling requiredBasic knowledge of small animal medicine (proper restraint / handling, diagnostics, laboratory testing)Sound knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and disease processesAssist Nurses and Doctors in appointments, procedures and diagnosticsAssist with anesthesia, surgery and discharge preparationCommunicate with clients, and team members (verbally and written)Patient care responsibilities including laundry, husbandry, walking dogs, cleaning cagesProficient computer skillsPerform digital radiographsStocking of supplies in various locations throughout the hospitalEnsure cleanliness and integrity of the hospitalAttention to detail, organization and a calm demeanor requiredAbility to focus, prioritize and multitask in a fast paced, environmentFear Free handling : safe, stress free interactions for team members, clients, and patientsOur top tier benefits include :
