If you love ER medicine and want to work with a network of incredible veterinary specialists, look no further than the Metropolitan Veterinary Urgent Care and Specialty team in King of Prussia, PA.
As a new 6,000-square-foot facility just a short commute away from Metropolitan Veterinary Associates, this hospital will feature 5 exam rooms, a surgery suite, and ample treatment space. We know wait times in the ER can be frustrating, so the goal is to create a free flow between hospitals to serve our community and their pets to the best of our ability.
In addition to urgent care services, this location will benefit from having a team of specialists onsite including a boarded surgeon, a boarded internist, and a boarded radiologist. You will also have a direct connection to the rest of our specialists at MVA, eliminating the barrier for new consults when you need them most.
We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of a veterinary assistant to join our Urgent Care. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for surgery and anesthesia, excellent interpersonal skills, is extremely organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The schedule for this role would be Sunday-Wednesday 2p-12a or Thursday-Saturday 12p-12a.

- Experience and comfort with patient (dog and cat) restraint and handling required
- Basic knowledge of small animal medicine (proper restraint / handling, diagnostics, laboratory testing)
- Sound knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and disease processes
- Assist Nurses and Doctors in appointments, procedures and diagnostics
- Assist with anesthesia, surgery and discharge preparation
- Communicate with clients, and team members (verbally and written)
- Patient care responsibilities including laundry, husbandry, walking dogs, cleaning cages
- Proficient computer skills
- Perform digital radiographs
- Stocking of supplies in various locations throughout the hospital
- Ensure cleanliness and integrity of the hospital
- Attention to detail, organization and a calm demeanor required
- Ability to focus, prioritize and multitask in a fast paced, environment
- Fear Free handling : safe, stress free interactions for team members, clients, and patients
