About the Veterinary Technician – Ophthalmology Technician Role :
We are looking to add to our growing team and are in search of an Ophthalmology Veterinary Technician with at least three years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably with ophthalmology experience. Our hospital's Ophthalmology nurses play a vital role in providing superior and compassionate medical care to patients while working collaboratively with our Ophthalmology specialists and hospital team.
Schedule & Compensation
Schedule : Tuesday and Thursday, 7am – 7pm (Part Time)
Compensation : Starting at $23 / hr
What You’ll Do
- Assist with ophthalmic examinations, diagnostics, and treatments
- Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to ophthalmology patients
- Administer and calculate medications accurately (IV, IM, SQ, PO, OU, OD)
- Educate pet owners on ophthalmic conditions and post-procedural care
- Assist with ophthalmic surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring
- Maintain and update patient records with accuracy
- Coordinate service admits / discharges and assist in patient triage
- Mentor and support fellow nursing team members
- Communicate effectively with clients, veterinarians, and hospital staff
- Ensure Fear Free handling for a stress-free patient experience
