Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital, a full-service, 24hr Emergency and Referral Hospital is growing again! We have opportunity for a Surgical Sterile Processing Supervisor for our Sterile Processing Team.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Sterile Processing Department Supervisor oversees and performs the decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of instrumentation and medical equipment for surgeries and procedures, utilizing infection control and safety practices during all phases of the process. Oversees and ensures the hospital maintains a perpetual inventory of all sterile hospital supplies to ensure productivity and functionality is not hindered and waste is minimal. Assists with other work duties as required.
RESPOSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· Ensures surgery department is clean, organized and have the utmost infection control
· Ensures appropriate and continued flow of equipment and instrumentation through the Sterile Processing Department
· Responsible for mentoring, training and scheduling the work of employees in the Sterile Processing Department
· Covers shifts as needed
· Communicates and Coordinates with the leads of each specialty practice (Surgery, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Internal Medicine and Cardiology) on surgical schedule and procedure/ instrumentation needs
· Oversees/Maintains adequate levels of surgical and sterile supplies to ensure surgery productivity and functionality is not hindered and waste is minimal
· Monitors and communicates with Purchasing Department on surgical inventory or supplies in relation to new product requests and backorder solutions
· Ensures reports of surgical inventory order inaccuracies, discrepancies or damage to the Purchasing Department
· Performs cycle, quarterly and EOY physical surgical inventory counts
· Oversees, performs and assists with the duties of the Sterile Processing Team as needed
· Monitors the sterilization
· Monitors the testing and reporting any issues with sterilization equipment to manufacturers
· Oversees/Performs the preparation and delivery instruments, supplies or equipment for all surgical procedures including, but not limited to Cardiology, Exotics, Soft Tissue, Neurology, Ophthalmology, and Orthopedics.
· Monitors reports damages or malfunctioning equipment with the repair technicians
· Oversees the instrument repairs or routine maintenance for all surgical instrumentation
· Communicates with hospital departments on the surgery schedule and departmental instrumentation
· Acts as a resource to technical staff in all departments regarding responsibilities of proper sterilization techniques and infection control
· Supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the hospital
· Promotes professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory continuing education and skills competency
· Assists the with additional related/unrelated assigned duties as required
· Have the ability to commute between hospital locations, as needed for training or transportation of surgery supplies between locations or from outside sources

Position Hours:
First Shift Monday- Friday, with weekend on calls.
Job Types: Full-Time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
