What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician-Exotics Department position at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital?

Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital, is currently seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Exotics Department located in Norton, OH!
At Metropolitan, you will have the opportunity to highlight your skills!
Must have current Ohio Veterinary Technician License, and the desire to work and care for exotics animals- including birds, reptiles, and small animals. Assist DVMs with appointments, surgeries and procedures. Proficient in running lab procedures and client education.
The ideal addition to our nursing team will possess:
- State of Ohio Veterinary Technician license; required
- Rabies Vaccine Required* ( will reimburse cost of vaccine)
- A minimum of 1-year Veterinary experience preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency in calculations (drug, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
- Flexibility to work hours/shifts to meet the needs of the hospital
- Superb verbal and written communication skills
- Will train right candidate for exotics.
- Must have desire to work with, handle, and care for all exotic species including birds, reptiles, small animals, and wildlife.
Wage Range Breakdown
Based on experience
- RVTs- $20-$28/hour
Schedule:
Day Shift, Mon-Fri.
Saturday rotation
