Summary
We are seeking a Dental Technician/Veterinary Assistant to join our growing dental team at MVSES. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality dental care for our animal patients, contributing to our mission of exceptional veterinary service.
Responsibilities
- Assist our board-certified veterinary dentist during dental procedures.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment in an aseptic manner.
- Take dental X-rays and ensure proper imaging techniques are used.
- Dental Prophylaxis
- Educate pet owners on dental health and proper care for their animals.
- Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during dental procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of dental treatments and patient information.
- Assist with laboratory work related to dental cases as needed.
- IV catheter placement
- Recovery
- Patient discharge
Requirements
- Two-years clinical experience as a licensed veterinary technician or three years as a veterinary assistant.
- Two-years experience in veterinary anesthesia administration and monitoring experience.
- Experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and animal physiology.
- Ability to handle dogs and other animals safely and compassionately.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
- Experience with veterinary critical care is a plus.
