The District :
The Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake & Sandy was established in 1935 by the Salt Lake City Commission. The District's primary function is to provide high quality drinking water for our member cities, Salt Lake City and Sandy City, by creating a firm water supply.
The Position :
The District is seeking a full-time Facilities Technician. This position serves the vital role of maintaining the District’s buildings and grounds in over three counties. Daily assignments may include maintaining District right-of-ways, landscaping, custodial duties, painting, equipment operation, and equipment maintenance and repair. There are a variety of things to do everyday while having the opportunity to enjoy the outdoor scenery as you work. The ideal candidate would be highly motivated to learn and has experience with buildings and grounds maintenance or an industry-related field. The Facilities Technician is an entry-level position. Starting pay ranges from $19.04-$22.85 / hour depending on experience.

Requirements :
Valid Utah Driver's License.
Education and Experience : High school diploma or GED equivalent and two years of facilities maintenance experience. An equivalent combination of education (degree or skilled trade certificate) may be substituted on a year for year basis. Facility experience in the following : small mechanical equipment repair, painting, landscape improvements, maintenance and repair, custodial duties, and related skills.
Desired Qualifications : Landscape irrigation, plumbing, concrete, carpentry or instrumentation and electrical preferred. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A.
Salary : $19 - $23
