Sales Person
This position requires the employee to identify, research, and secure new generator sales business opportunities utilizing prospecting skills and community/business networking to quote projects, increase revenue and improve margins. He/she must follow standard sales protocol and own the entire sales/service cycle from beginning to end including initial contact; client needs analysis, development of proposals and presentation, and closing the deal. This position will establish and nurture relationships with current and potential customers and provide excellent customer service. This position requires the employee to develop and maintain relationships with customers in the following markets: residential, healthcare, mission critical, industrial, DOD, and commercial. In addition, this position will be responsible to expand sales and service into other markets that support Federal, state, and local municipalities, call centers, and other potential accounts in his/her area of responsibility. Always perform business in accordance with PPC and MetroPower, Inc. mission and vision statements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Profitability:
- Primary responsibility is generator sales and service follow up.
- Secure signed Notice of commencement when needed.
- Collect deposits and process with office administration.
- Email signed contracts and deposit amounts to the office.
- Must accurately track own sales and leads.
- Contact supervisor on weekly basis to discuss progress, needs, and future plans.
Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination:
- Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company. Support goal of achieving zero accidents.
- Assist with pre-planning and identifying methods to eliminate hazards during installs and service.
- Carefully observe work habits of others and environmental hazards and bring issues to their attention.
- Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and required PPE for the task at hand.
Qualifications and Requirements
This position requires a decisive leader with a passion for developing customer relationships and finding solutions to customer problems. Must have a strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and how to help customers understand what problems they have and how they can be solved with engineered systems. Must have a desire to work in a team-based environment and contribute immediately.
- High school education is required.
- Valid driver’s license and appropriate transportation.
- 4-5 years prior experience, as a salesperson, preferably in the electrical construction/service field.
- Two or Four-year construction-related degree or electrical journeyman background (4–5-year electrical apprenticeship) also required. Proof of documented related work experience can substitute).
- Highly customer-service oriented and a team player.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to maintain a consistent workload that involves moderate manual labor.
- Office environment requiring sitting and standing. Travel to various construction sites is essential, exposing employee to outdoor elements, noise, and the need to stand and walk.
- Valid driver’s license and insured personal transportation also required.
