As Sr. Program Manager, you’ll lead a complex portfolio of Category Management, Strategic Management Planning and Performance Management & Improvement projects for the Air Force’s SAF AA. This role requires expertise in managing large-scale, multi-functional programs focused on current operations and performance throughout the Air Force. The Senior Program Manager will serve as the primary liaison between our team and senior Air Force stakeholders, ensuring project success through strategic oversight, governance, and process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the SAF AA mission, as well as experience managing federal contracts within the Department of Defense (DoD), particularly within the Air Force.

What you’ll do:



  • Lead and manage a multi-million-dollar Category Management and Program Oversite Environment supporting the SAF AA mission, ensuring alignment with the National Defense Strategy and Air Force strategic goals.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with senior government stakeholders, including Contracting Officers (CO), Contracting Officer’s Representatives (COR), and Air Force senior leadership.

  • Oversee all contract performance activities across multiple task areas, ensuring high-quality deliverables are provided on time and within budget.

  • · Develop and execute strategic roadmaps supporting Category Management, supporting data-driven decision making to reduce cost, manage demand, and apply industry best practices.

  • Support the development of SAF AA’s strategies, integrating new and emerging technologies to drive thought leadership and decisive decision making.

  • Manage cross-functional teams of business analysts, category management specialists, and performance experts to ensure successful project execution and continuous process improvement.

  • Oversee portfolio management (PfM) activities, ensuring that customer alignment with investments for mission requirements at optimal risk and cost, supporting both legacy, while driving innovation.

  • Ensure all program operations align with federal policies, governance frameworks, and Air Force strategic directives.

  • Ability to lead a diverse team of industry partners and manage relationships as a Prime

  • Drive thought leadership with a demonstrated ability to connect dots and solve customer challenges.


What you’ll need to succeed:



  • Active Secret security clearance (Top Secret preferred).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or a related field

  • 10 years of experience in DoD Strategy & Project Management operations (including Cost, schedule and performance), for a multi-faceted approach with a focus on Air Force or DoD programs.

  • Proven experience managing large-scale programs ($40M ), particularly within the Air Force or federal contracts.

  • Strong expertise in strategic planning, and continuous process improvement techniques.

  • In-depth knowledge of Air Force HQ and emerging technologies supporting the DAF.

  • Proven experience supporting growth, proposal, and capture efforts including RFP response development, relationship management, business development contractual negotiations
