Do you enjoy working with youth? Do you have a personal or professional interest in archery? The MetroWest YMCA’s Family Outdoor Center is looking for passionate and motivated candidates to join our per diem staffing roster. We are currently looking for Saturday morning Archery Instructor. This positions not only support youth in developing a healthy appreciation for the archery but also fosters a community of personal and collective growth. Additional per diem opportunities available.
What do archery instructors do?
The archery instructor cover between 2-3 archery classes on Saturday mornings depending on # of registrations. Classes cover beginners, beginners/intermediate, and advanced levels.
What's in it for me?
Archery instructors will receive any required training for their specialty, as well as on-going support. Instructors will also have the opportunity for additional training which would allow them to pick up additional per diem shifts for rental/school groups or parties.
Responsibilities and Duties
Archery instructors are required to:
- Set-up and break-down indoor or outdoor archery range.
- Ensure activities/programs are delivered correctly and in a safe manner following all standard/local operating procedures.
- Maintain certifications required for instruction relating to appropriate skills by attending in-house refreshers and/or external trainings.
- Maintain accurate documentation of activities where needed.
- Repair equipment as needed
- Inform OE Director of any issues, or equipment needs
Qualifications and Skills
· Must at minimum be 18 years of age
· Must have archery experience (either personal or professional)
· Currently possess or be able to complete and maintain a level 1 or 2 USA Archery Instructor certification (provided by the YMCA if needed)
· Must possess or be able to complete and maintain a CPR/FA certification (provided by the YMCA if needed)
Job Type: scheduled per diem
Pay: Starting at $17.00 per hour with potential increase depending upon training history and external certifications.

Experience:
- Working with children of varying ages
- Working outdoors for long periods of time
- Experience with archery programming (required)
- Experience with USA archery instructional system (preferred)
