Longwall Mechanic
Hourly Position
Certifications :
- Must hold a West Virginia Experienced Underground Miner Certification.
- Must hold a Federal and West Virginia State Electrical Certification.
Reports to : Longwall Coordinator
Job Description :
The essential functions of this position were determined to be but not limited to :
1. Perform emergency and preventive maintenance, including electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair / replacement of component parts, on all production and support equipment.
2. Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment, i.e., greasing, fluid checks, oil and filter changes, etc.
3. Perform permissibility testing.
4. Welding and acetylene torch cutting repair and mechanical fabricating.
5. Other duties may be required as assigned by the Maintenance Foreman or the Longwall Coordinator.
Work Schedule : Will work five (5) days, Monday through Friday. Periodically, miners will be required to work a sixth (6th) day on Saturday. Overtime may be required by the Maintenance Foreman, Longwall Coordinator, or the Mine Foreman.
