Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
- The PLC Programmer is responsible for developing our PLC offering of our Vision Inspection product range.
- The role is actively contributing to the specification, the implementation, the evaluation and release to serial production of PLC software versions.
- The job holder is managing the related projects for new feature development, maintenance of line and possibly technology migration according to our process framework (Mettler-Toledo PLM framework).
- The role is contributing to improvement projects across departments and locations.
- The role includes ownership of the PLC product with respective technical support and training of respective service personnel.
- Further feature development of the PLC product “CIV Control” based on customer requests and roadmap decisions
- Maintenance of “CIV Control”
- 4th level technical support for “CIV Control” guiding Mettler-Toledo personnel in engineering and service
- Contribution to SBU Product Lifetime Management (PLM) projects beyond “CIV Control”
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- PLC programming skills for B&R Automation Studio (ideally also for other platforms, e.g. TwinCat 3)
- Basic knowledge of object orientated programming
- Additional experience in embedded C /C# development projects is preferred
- Proven ability to work in globally distributed development teams
- High degree of self-sufficiency, sense of responsibility and ownership
- Team player
Minimum Education / Experience Required
- University degree in Informatics, Electronics, Technical Informatics, or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in PLC programming in industrial environment, ideally in food, pharma or automotive production environment
- Essentially none if located in Tampa, FL
- One week per quarter in Tampa, FL if located elsewhere
