Job Overview
A Latin America-focused company is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Senior Bookkeeper to support financial operations, with a focus on reinsurance transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working with QuickBooks and Excel. This role provides exposure to insurance/reinsurance accounting and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Reconciliation
- Perform bank reconciliations for both operational/trading and segregated accounts, including third-party reinsurance premiums and claim amounts.
- Reconcile reinsurance brokerage and underwriting fees as part of the reconciliation process.
- Coordinate with the reinsurance administration team to enter transactions into QuickBooks, utilizing Excel and pivot tables for data management.
- Assist the CEO with legacy accounting issues and reconciliations.
- Prepare accrual expenses and review accrual income for monthly shareholder reporting (IFRS basis).
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Assist in tax preparation and reporting.
- Support payroll processing and resolve QuickBooks payroll issues as needed.
- Participate in audit preparation and coordination.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Required).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel (pivot tables experience preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in insurance/reinsurance accounting is a plus.
