Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team at a busy veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for pet owners and will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. Duties
- Greet clients and their pets warmly as they arrive at the clinic, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, appointments, and general pet care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
- Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail.
- Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint and handling during examinations or treatments.
- Provide clients with information on medication administration, animal care, and husbandry practices.
- Ensure the front desk area is organized, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and veterinarians to facilitate effective communication regarding patient care.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures is highly desirable.
- Skills in dog handling, animal restraint, and bovine knowledge are advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Proficient in managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
