Job Summary:
The Packaging Specialist will coordinate and assist with New Item Introduction Marketing efforts including packaging artwork direction and review, photography direction, product use and care documents, and other duties as they relate to new item introductions.
Essential Duties:
- Assist with all aspects of artwork and copy development for packaging, packaging inserts and use & care instructions for New Item Introductions from concept and proof checking through to final production, ensuring on-time delivery.
- Maintain and communicate packaging project status of New Item Introductions to ensure on-time
- Secure die lines, product samples and specifications, and other assets required for project
- Submit creative briefs to photograph products and develop final packaging artwork for
- Attend and supervise photo shoots as directed by
- Work with outside vendors including creative agencies, photographers, translator services, packaging experts, printers, etc. to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with Brand Management, Product Development, Sales and Consumer Relations to develop accurate key selling features and use & care instructions of new products.
- Review, proof read, fact-check, amend and approve packaging copy and graphics as received from internal and external resources to ensure accuracy and maintain brand guidelines.
- Communicate with product licensors and submit new item packaging artwork for approval in a timely fashion to ensure all submissions are processed to meet tight deadlines.
- Analyze and review photography digital proofs ensuring color accuracy for
- Retrieve, print, analyze, approve and archive final packaging proofs ensuring color and content accuracy for on-press consistency.
- Coordinate the production of packaging mockups for line reviews, retailer meetings, presentations and trade
- Upload final artwork records into the Hub according to proper naming
- Maintain a library of departmental procedure manuals, marketing copy and translations for new
- Assist Packaging Manager in daily operations and administrative tasks as
- Develop product knowledge in assigned
- Attend trade shows, sales meetings and off-site
- All other related duties as
Requirements:
- Requires 2-4 years Marketing, Graphic Design, Advertising or equivalent
- Requires general knowledge of product development processes, marketing design and print production
- Understanding of color theory and offset printing process
- Must be proficient MS Office, (Word and Excel), Adobe Acrobat, internet and e-
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with all levels of personnel within Meyer, internal and external team members, customers and vendors.
- Must have careful proof-reading skills to ensure packaging
- Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and establish

Working Conditions:
Work is performed primarily indoors. Lighting is artificial. Equipment used includes standard office equipment i.e. computer, fax machine, telephone, printer and copy machine. Physical demands include sitting, repetitive use of both hands, grasping, standing, walking, bending over, reaching overhead, lifting up to 30 lbs., pushing and pulling. Days are primarily Monday through Friday with some overtime and weekends required. Individual in this position may do some traveling. Position requires close contact with all Meyer employees, outside vendors, and customers.
