About the Role:

This hands-on, full-time position performs day-to-day duties, including overseeing production processes at various processing partners to ensure quality, compliance, and operational efficiency. Key duties include monitoring production schedules, managing new program implementations, and effectively collaborating with copackers and vendors. This role ensures adherence to national and international standards, conducts audits and inspections, and addresses operational challenges. Strong communication, quality assurance, and organizational skills are essential to success in this role.

Duties and Major Responsibilities Include:

Production Oversight and Quality Assurance

  • Oversee weekly production at various processing partners on site, as the production schedule requires (Fort Morgan, CO)
  • Ensure all product specifications are met during production
  • Conduct weekly reviews of production yield reports, analyze performance, and provide reporting and insights to leadership as required
  • Review production details, coordinate order fills, and implement necessary adjustments
  • Provide weekly summary reports to processing partners

Programs and Vendor Management

  • Manage the implementation of new programs and products at various processing partners
  • Serve as a liaison between copackers and Meyer, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration
  • Work with operations staff to address concerns regarding raw materials from external suppliers

Compliance and Standards

  • Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation, including environmental, health, and safety standards
  • Coordinate scheduled audits and address identified issues promptly
  • Conduct process inspections and employee training to ensure adherence to food laws, regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

Communication and Coordination

  • Work closely with vendor partners to maintain effective partnerships and resolve issues as they arise
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Needed To Be Successful:

  • High School or equivalent is required
  • A bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on food technology/science is preferred
  • 10 years of related experience in Beef Plant Operations and Yield Analysis is required.
  • Previous leadership experience and the ability to support copacker and vendor relationships is required
  • Previous plant experience is required
  • Previous experience in the Beef, Pork, and other protein industry is required

Specialized Skills We Are Looking For:

  • Extensive knowledge of operations and quality assurance, with a strong ability to ensure compliance and efficiency
  • Skilled in providing support and acting as a liaison between the Meyer Operations Team and leadership at individual copacker locations
  • Proven expertise in managing and fostering productive copacker relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to support profitability by promoting and advancing Meyer’s team culture
  • Advanced analytical skills with a capacity for multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to thoroughness in task completion
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to various plants across the United States
  • Familiarity with emerging processing technologies and innovative packaging formats
  • In-depth knowledge of the beef, pork, and protein industries, including SSOP, GMPs, and HACCP CCPs
  • Must have a clean driving record, current vehicle insurance, and meet insurability requirements

Supervisory Expectations

  • Directly supervises one or more employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities following the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Compensation:$185,000 to $205,000 (Depending On Experience)
