Description
Meyer Plastics and Tedco Inc. are currently seeking a talented, motivated, and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our highly skilled team. This Staff Accountant position requires a degree in a related field or equivalent work experience and will be responsible for general ledger accounting functions. The Staff Accountant is a full-time position with hours from 8 am-4:30 pm. This team member will report and work closely with the CFO to maintain the company's financials.
Pay for the position: $24-$26/hour

General Duties:
- Month end closing processes for 2 companies
- Prepare monthly sales tax returns
- Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, including bank reconciliation
- Review Credit Applications
- Produce financial statements for management review
- Work with audit group on annual review requests
- Maintain fixed asset records
- Customer/vendor/GL account maintenance
- Provide backup to accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Participate in ERP testing
Specific Duties:
Cash:
• Monitor bank account activity on daily basis
• Prepare cash/bank reconciliations monthly
Closing Process:
• Run reports and prepare journal entries, then post in accounting system
• Prepare financial reports in timely manner
• Other pre-close and post-close tasks such as recurring entries, and balance sheet reconciliation adjustments
Monthly Procedures:
• Ad-hoc report generation as requested by management
Other such duties that insure “Meyer Plastics, through knowledge, ability, and performance, is dedicated to being the Midwest’s leading distributor and fabricator of plastic materials, consistently exceeding our customer’s expectations” and to perform any other duties and/or assignments requested by Supervisor or Management of Meyer Plastics.
Requirements
- Minimum Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent years of experience in accounting
- Strong communication skills
- Team Player
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and manage time appropriately
- Microsoft Excel experience necessary
