Parts Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:
A Parts Specialist needs to perform well under pressure and understand the fluctuating needs for various replacement parts to excel in the role. They’re responsible for keeping the business well-stocked and keeping customers happy. Some day-to-day Parts Specialist job duties include:
- Maintain optimal inventory levels
- Monitoring the current parts inventory
- Pricing parts to maintain profitability
- Receiving parts, including placing them into inventory and properly labeling them
- Helping customers find and purchase the correct parts
- Overseeing special orders
- Collaborating with service managers to ensure all parts are available for repair jobs

Essential Qualifications:

Experience in Parts/Inventory:
- Previous experience in RV, automotive, or powersports parts sales preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with parts catalogs, inventory management systems, and order processing.
- Customer Service Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to assist customers with parts inquiries.
- Ability to recommend appropriate parts and accessories based on customer needs.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of RV components, systems, and accessories (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
- Willingness to learn RV-specific parts and stay updated on new products.
- Computer Proficiency:
- Comfortable using point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory software.
- Ability to search for and order parts online or through vendor systems.
- Attention to Detail:
- Accurate data entry for orders, returns, and inventory tracking.
- Ability to verify part numbers, descriptions, and quantities to prevent errors.
- Organizational Skills:
- Efficiently manage and organize parts stockroom.
- Maintain clear labeling and accurate inventory counts.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle heavy parts.
- Comfortable standing, bending, and moving around the dealership throughout the day.
