What are the responsibilities and job description for the New Construction Installer position at Meyers Heating & Air Conditioning?
We are seeking a HVAC Install Lead or Helper who is motivated, hard-working, with mechanical aptitude, takes pride in their trade and has a desire to learn! Daily responsibilities include install of ductwork and equipment, moving material, cleaning duties, and your fellow installers. You will work as a 2-person team to ensure timely and accurate service to clients in accordance with company standards and procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with the installation of heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and cooling units for new construction residential systems
- Assemble and seal duct-work
- Properly hang ductwork and associated fittings straight, plumb, and level
- Cut in and install take offs
- Install round pipe and associated fittings
- Properly terminate flex to registers
- Good working knowledge of blueprints, system layout, and duct design
- Set and install rooftop units
- Set/mount equipment, rough-in and trim duct systems, condensate piping, control wiring
- Good time management to stay on task and on schedule
- Must have your own, and be able to properly use, sheet metal tools (including cordless drill
- Maintain a professional appearance
- EPA/CFC certified
- Valid state driver's license and clean driving record
- Self-starter with the ability to work with little supervision
- Participate in any provided training opportunities
- Other duties may be assigned

Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Helper: 1 year of previous HVAC Install experience (Change Out or New Construction)
- Lead: 3 years previous HVAC Install experience with the ability to read blue prints and/or Bluebeam
- Must have tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to exercise judgement and make appropriate decisions
- Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of required tools
- Ability to work synergistically with crew partner(s), also independently and accurately
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Compensation & Hours
Starting wage of $25.00 - $35.00 per hour Depending on Experience
Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (flexible start and end times depending on business needs)
Days: Monday - Friday
