Job Summary
As a Senior Commodity Manager , you will be responsible for leading the strategic sourcing of key commodity categories. You will develop and manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive cost-saving initiatives. Your role will involve collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure the supply of materials that meet cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing & Commodity Management : Lead the sourcing strategy for assigned commodities, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and production needs. Develop and implement long-term sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and supply chain efficiency.
- Supplier Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong, effective relationships with key suppliers. Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and pricing standards.
- Negotiation & Contract Management : Lead negotiations for pricing, terms, and contract agreements with suppliers, ensuring optimal cost savings while maintaining high standards for quality and delivery.
- Cost Management & Cost Reduction : Drive cost-reduction initiatives by identifying and implementing innovative sourcing strategies and value engineering opportunities. Analyze total cost of ownership (TCO) and lead efforts to reduce total cost across the supply chain.
- Risk Management : Proactively assess and mitigate supply chain risks, including market fluctuations, geopolitical risks, and supplier-related challenges.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to understand material specifications, production schedules, and quality requirements. Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
- Market Analysis : Monitor global commodity markets to anticipate price trends and supply chain disruptions. Provide insights to management on market conditions and potential impact on material costs and availability.
- Travel : Travel up to 30% of time, and as necessary to meet business goals.
