This is a Temporary, 6 month position.
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and optimizing manufacturing processes and equipment to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
Responsibilities
- Equipment Procurement: Determine and procure necessary equipment for all manufacturing processes used to build products, Factory and Site acceptance buy-off criteria .
- Collaboration and management of Integrators: Work closely with equipment integrators to design and manufacture equipment and fixtures for medium to high-volume production. Manage suppliers during the specification, design, buyoff, and installation of manufacturing equipment.
- Validation and Characterization: Characterize and validate new equipment and fixtures before their introduction to the production floor.
- Workstation Layout: Determine the layout of production workstations to optimize product flow, ergonomics, and overall efficiency.
- Process Development: Develop manufacturing equipment and processes from pilot prototypes to full-scale production ramp-up.
- Process Analysis: Perform process analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), line balancing activities, and capacity modeling/simulation.
- Cross-functional collaboration : Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input, locating strategy, to the design team for process and yield improvements.
- Instruction Development: Create detailed manufacturing instructions to train technicians and line operators on new processes and equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in a high-volume production environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials.
- Experience with process analysis tools such as DOE, PFMEA, and capacity modeling.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools is a plus.
