Responsibilities: This person will direct all activities necessary for the procurement of ingredients required for feed production at favorable terms and costs within acceptable risk management guidelines. All duties should be performed in accordance with company policy.

Responsibilities: This person will direct all activities necessary for the procurement of ingredients required for feed production at favorable terms and costs within acceptable risk management guidelines. All duties should be performed in accordance with company policy.
What You’ll Do
- Schedule and track multiple ingredients for MFA feed mills on an ongoing basis.
- Study and evaluate market conditions for the best purchasing options for grain and other commodity feed ingredients such as soy hulls, wheat mids, soybean meal, DDGs, etc. This may include trading a book of business in a variety of commodities to gain direct insight into markets.
- Look for opportunities to take forward positions within corporate risk guidelines. These positions should be evaluated relative to Division plans and objectives regarding feed pricing and bookings.
- Direct micro-ingredient purchasing to achieve the best cost/quality for MFA.
- Understand, evaluate, and arrange bulk freight logistics options as needed.
- Keep accurate records of positions, transactions, and contracts.
- Use MFA’s buying volume and market insights to make competitive buys for AgriServices and Local Affiliate locations (Direct Ship).
- Assemble weekly ingredient price sheet by mill by ingredient
- Report market and inventory costs for pricing comparison
- Prepare booking prices as requested
- Forward price ingredients for feed contracts as needed

- B.S. degree in Business, Agriculture or a related field or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of three years of experience in ingredient purchasing and/or commodity trading
- Negotiation experience
