The AS9100 Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the production, assembly, and handling of aerospace hose components in accordance with AS9100 quality standards. This role involves product handling from receiving through shipping, ensuring accurate inventory management, and supporting the production team in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.
Primary Duties:
- Fabricate, assemble, inspect, and test aerospace hose assemblies and components in compliance with internal work instructions, military specifications, and AS9100 standards.
- Set up and operate equipment and machinery for the fabrication process while utilizing a variety of tools and machines required for specific assembly tasks.
- Perform quality control checks on all assemblies before shipping to ensure conformance to customer and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any assembly issues that impact quality.
- Manage the receiving, staging, picking, and shipping of products.
- Process and verify incoming products, ensuring accurate inventory system entries.
- Conduct testing on finished assemblies to verify product integrity, ensuring compliance with technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager to resolve assembly process issues and suggest improvements.
- Maintain assembly instructions and update build data.
- Support the maintenance and calibration of production equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Cross-train in various technical areas and contribute to developing more efficient manufacturing processes, ensuring Lean and 5S principles are followed.
- Stage materials and products for shipping, including packaging, labeling, and preparing shipments while ensuring timely and accurate processing of orders and related documentation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and participate in forklift operation and safety orientation as needed.
- Assist with inventory control tasks, including cycle counting and managing product locations.
Basic Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical system experience, preferably in aerospace production.
- Strong ability to interpret and follow blueprints, engineering drawings, and written work instructions.
- Understanding of Calipers, scales, tape measures
- High manual dexterity and ability to handle small components accurately.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in assembly processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Basic computer proficiency, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Mechanical background and forklift certification (where applicable) are beneficial.
- Aerospace experience and familiarity with hydraulic hose and fittings, particularly Parker Stratoflex, is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and maintain punctual attendance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience assembling flight-qualified aerospace components and knowledge of GD&T standards (e.g., ASME Y14.5).
- Familiarity with AS9100 supply chain practices, tool calibration, and environmental testing.
- Technical trade degree or equivalent certification.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and experience with RF scanners or similar tools.
- Previous experience in aerospace distribution, particularly with hydraulic hoses and fittings such as Parker Stratoflex.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Job requires frequent lifting up to 70 pounds, stooping, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, pulling, constantly walking/standing on cement flooring and climbing ladders as needed. Working conditions involve a fast-paced warehouse environment containing moving equipment, fluctuating temperature and inventory in various storage arrangements.
