The Medical Assistant (MA) provides clinical, administrative, and clerical support to healthcare providers in a residential setting. They assist with patient care by taking health histories, vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and administering medications. Additionally, they support the healthcare team during exams, prepare laboratory specimens, perform basic tests, and help with medical procedures such as EKGs and blood draws.
Key duties include:
- Interviewing patients to obtain health and substance abuse histories.
- Preparing patients for exams and assisting healthcare providers.
- Administering medications, injections, and performing basic tests.
- Educating patients about medications, treatments, and health issues.
- Documenting patient records and managing billing and insurance forms.
- Ensuring equipment and supplies are ready and properly maintained.
- Maintaining a safe and confidential work environment, adhering to healthcare regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a medical assisting certification program.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
