Summary:
The Community Aide Worker provides comprehensive support to clients in day programs or group homes, promoting their physical, social, and emotional well-being. The role involves assisting clients with daily activities, crisis intervention, behavior management, and life skills training, either individually or in group settings. The worker develops, implements, and evaluates recreational, social, and educational activities, creating an engaging environment to encourage participation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clients' integration into the community by organizing activities and providing life skills training.
- Monitor clients' well-being, assist with daily tasks, and support hygiene and medication administration.
- Address crisis or emergency situations effectively, ensuring safety.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and client records.
- Serve as a positive role model, fostering trust and empowerment among clients.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma (Associate’s or higher preferred).
- Experience with individuals facing mental health challenges or substance use history.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
Skills and Abilities:
- Empathy, patience, and flexibility in working with diverse individuals.
- Strong organizational, communication, and public health knowledge.
- Ability to empower and motivate clients toward self-care and independence.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform physical activities, including lifting up to 25 pounds, and maintain mobility and manual dexterity.
Additional Requirements:
- Pass background checks (FBI/DOJ), drug screening, and tuberculosis test.
- Compliance with ethical standards and institutional guidelines.
