Job Summary:
The housekeeping is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of MFI’s facilities, including medical offices, residential spaces, and other areas. This role involves performing routine and non-routine cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance tasks, as well as collaborating with clinical staff to address emergent needs. The Custodian is expected to develop and implement cleaning schedules, ensure compliance with safety standards, and manage janitorial supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement cleaning schedules for assigned sites.
- Perform general cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, emptying trash, and cleaning windows.
- Ensure safety by following OSHA standards and disposing of waste appropriately.
- Manage medical waste disposal in regulated bins and maintain cleanliness in workstations and storage areas.
- Maintain accurate logs of work activities and supply inventory.
- Replace soiled linens and distribute clean laundry as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Custodial experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques, materials, and safety practices in healthcare settings.
- Ability to use cleaning equipment and tools, including floor scrubbers.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality and maintain a professional appearance.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- FBI/DOJ fingerprint clearance.
- Negative tuberculosis test.
- Pass a drug screening.
- Valid California ID and ability to maintain car insurance.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Good communication skills, visual acuity, and manual dexterity for using cleaning tools and equipment.
This position requires the ability to work independently while ensuring cleanliness and safety within healthcare and residential facilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $29.10 per hour
