Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a full-time Guardianship Monitor to join our team. The Guardianship Monitor will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring our clients' guardianship process. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of guardianship laws and regulations.

Position Summary:
The Guardianship Monitor will investigate and assess the well-being of protected persons under guardianship, ensuring compliance with Md. Rule 10-106.2 and the Maryland Judiciary's Guardianship Monitoring Protocol. This role involves conducting interviews, home visits, and preparing detailed reports for the court.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and assess the well-being of protected persons through review of reports, interviews, and home visits.
- Conduct interviews with protected persons, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding the welfare of protected persons.
- Perform home visits to assess living conditions and needs.
- Testify in court as needed.
- Prepare written reports and recommendations to the court regarding the needs and appropriateness of the guardianship, and whether less restrictive alternatives might meet the protected person's needs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with vulnerable populations as a social worker, mental health professional, former adult protective services staff person, or criminal justice investigator.
- Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling, clinical psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or a related behavioral science.
- Preferred: Maryland licensure in social work, counseling, clinical psychology, gerontology, or an equivalent level of licensure in any other state.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel to interviews and site visits.
Skills and Capabilities:
- Experience conducting investigations, including interviewing, reviewing medical and psychological reports, and on-site visits.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to conduct oneself in a fair, courteous, and efficient manner.
- Ability to gather information under stressful circumstances.
- Ability to work with children, older adults, and people with disabilities.
Work Environment:
- Services are needed for all circuit courts in every county of the State of Maryland as well as Baltimore City.
- The role requires travel within and outside the State of Maryland, with out-of-state travel anticipated to be no more than ten (10) times per year.
- Work may be performed onsite or remotely depending on the investigation.
- Work hours are up to seven (7) days a week, not expected to work prior to 6:00 AM EST or after 9:00 PM EST each day of the week unless approved by the Contract Manager.
